This is a beautifully restored 1963 'Vette in the rare original colors of Saddle paint and Saddle leather interior. I've always loved the C2s, but this is the first that I've owned. For that reason, I had some 'Vette guys take it out for a ride. They reported back that it drives better than most, with tight handling and good brakes.
A look at the Option Tag to the left of the VIN plate tells the story. Style 63 867 indicates a 1963 convertible. More specifically, the car was built in January of 1963 (the E3 code) during Week 3 of January (107196 in the VIN). The most interesting code is 898F, which indicates an original Saddle leather interior. That's a rare option in 1963, with only about 1100 cars leaving the assembly line with that trim. Paint code 932A indicates Saddle exterior paint, as it's painted today.
The white convertible top is new, as is pretty much everything cosmetic on the car. Also included is the shell and rear window for the hardtop, which was painted along with the body. Note that the hard top is missing everything else, and trim, rubber, and hardware will need to be purchased by the buyer to restore the hardtop.
Power comes from a 327 cubic inch, 340HP engine through a 4 speed Muncie transmission and positraction rear end. The block itself is a factory warranty replacement block with a CE code. The car was recently serviced and runs beautifully.
I bought this car at auction and had multiple offers to buy it before I could leave the building. It gets that kind of attention. As with all of my cars, I wanted to drive it for a while before selling. Partially to make sure it's ready for sale, but mainly.....well, why wouldn't I? I really debated keeping this one, but ultimately decided to sell, hoping to find a '63 Coupe to replace it with. If you're the buyer, you won't be disappointed.
